HÀ NỘI — In the coming months, the Ministry of Transport (MT) is pushing investors and project management boards to complete investment procedures in order to commence 10 and complete nine projects in the second quarter.

From 2021 to 2025, according to the MoT, 59 out of 64 projects using public investment funds have been approved for investment planning.

Among these, 41 projects have been approved for investment.

As for the remaining 18 projects that have not yet been approved, the project owners and management boards have planned to adjust the timeline.

It is expected that 11 projects will be approved in the second quarter of this year, six projects in the third quarter, and one project in the fourth quarter. Regarding project commencement and completion, the Ministry of Transport plans to commence 28 projects and complete 29 projects this year.

To date, six projects have been commenced, fulfilling the plan, including the renovation and upgrading of the Hà Nội - Vinh section, part of the Hà Nội - Hồ Chí Minh City railway line; the renovation and upgrading of the Vinh-Nha Trang section, part of the Hà Nội - Hồ Chí Minh City railway line; the upgrade of the Cái Mép - Thị Vải waterway; the renovation and upgrading of maritime access to ports in the Nam Nghi Sơn area, Thanh Hóa; and the renovation and upgrading of a section from National Highway 14E in Quảng Nam province.

"In the near future, the Ministry of Transport will continue to direct project owners and management boards to complete investment procedures for commencing 10 projects and completing nine projects in the second quarter," said the MoT in a statement.

Among them, there are several key projects such as Châu Đốc - Sóc Trăng - Cần Thơ, Khánh Hòa - Buôn Ma Thuột, Biên Hòa - Vũng Tàu, HCM City's Ring Road 3, and Hà Nội Capital Region's Ring Road 4, according to the Ministry of Transport.
