HÀ NỘI — Around 100 orphans will take part in the Sunflower Summer Camp between June 7 and 8 at the Viettel Academy in Thạch Hòa Commune, Thạch Thất District in Hà Nội.

The event, responding the Action Month for Children (June) and the Việt Nam Family Day (June 28), is co-organised by the Việt Nam Women’s Union and the General Department of Politics of the Vietnamese People's Army.

It aims to be an opportunity for orphans to receive sponsorship by the Godmother Programme launched by the union.

During the event, many activities will be held for the orphans, including meeting with leaders of the Party and State, visiting the Mausoleum of President Hồ Chí Minh and Uncle Hồ's Stilt House as well as participating in team-building games, skill training courses and a summer camp gala.

At the gala, the union will announce achievements after two years of implementing the programme and the list of orphans that the programme will sponsor this year.
