HCM CITY — It is vital to further strengthen ties between Laos and Việt Nam, HCMC Party chief Nguyễn Văn Nên said at a meeting with chairman of Laos’ Justice Committee, Khampheng Vilaphanh.

At the meeting on March 28 the two delegations shared their administrative experiences and discussed further co-operative plans in enhancing judicial supervision and political relations.

Despite the complexity of the regional and global situations, and post-COVID effects, the bilateral relationship kept growing, with increasing political trust, Nên said.

The city was keen to promote the solidarity between the two countries, with educating younger generations about it being one of the biggest priorities, he said.

He hoped Việt Nam and Lao would have more collaborative programmes and join hands to find solutions to regional issues.

Vilaphanh noted with pleasure the successful collaborative plans between Lao and Việt Nam, and hoped it would continue and HCM City would keep providing support, especially in lawmaking and judicial oversight.

He later met with chairwoman of the city People’s Committee, Nguyễn Thị Lệ, and discussed issues like supervision of judicial affairs and settlement of complaints. — VNS
