HỒ CHÍ MINH CITY — A slow loris monkey has been found roaming through a local hotel at midnight.

Guests at the hotel in D1 Street in Thủ Đức City in HCM City, found a monkey individual in the hotel campus at around 12.15am on Monday. They managed to capture it and transferred it to local authorities.

HCM City’s Forest Protection Department came to the scene to transfer the animal to Củ Chi Wildlife Rescue Station on Monday morning before he was released back to nature.

The monkey was found in a hotel in HCM City.

The animal weighing 0.3 kg is a male is in normal health condition. It is believed to be raised by a local household but escaped and got lost in the area near the hotel.

According to Decree No.06/2019/NĐ-CP on the management of endangered, precious and rare species of forest fauna and flora, the sloth-monkey belongs to group IB which include species of forest fauna threatened with extinction and is banned from exploitation or use for commercial purpose. — VNS
