Cold weather to continue in northern, north central provinces

Temperatures in the northwestern region will generally be between 14-17 degrees Celsius, though some areas will experience a low of 11 degrees Celsius. While some areas will have temperatures above 22 degrees Celsius, on the whole, highs will be between 19-22 degrees Celsius.

HÀ NỘI – According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the northern and north-central regions will continue to experience cold weather, while the south-central, Central Highlands, and southern regions can expect rain and thunderstorms.

Temperatures in the northwestern region will generally be between 14-17 degrees Celsius, though some areas will experience a low of 11 degrees Celsius. While some areas will have temperatures above 22 degrees Celsius, on the whole highs will be between 19-22 degrees Celsius.

The northeastern provinces are expected to see temperatures drop to 15-18 degrees Celsius, with mountainous areas experiencing lows of 13 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature in this region is forecasted to be 21 degrees Celsius.

In Hà Nội, the temperature is forecast to range from 16 to 20 degrees Celsius.

From January 5 to 7, the area from Thừa Thiên – Huế to Ninh Thuận provinces will see moderate and heavy rain and thunderstorms with rainfall of 100-300mm. Rainfall may exceed 350mm in some places.

Quảng Trị to Bình Thuận provinces, and the eastern part of the Central Highlands, will have moderate and heavy rain and thunderstorms with rainfall of 50-150mm, and more than 200mm in some places.

From the afternoon of January 5 to January 6, heavy rain and thunderstorms will hit some southern provinces with rainfall of 40-100mm.  VNS
