961 new coronavirus cases reported on Friday

Việt Nam reported 961 new COVID-19 infections in 42 localities on Friday, bringing the total caseload in the country to 10,729,681.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam reported 961 new COVID-19 infections in 42 localities on Friday, bringing the total caseload in the country to 10,729,681.

New transmissions were recorded in Hà Nội (181), Bắc Ninh (77), Phú Thọ (66), Yên Bái (65), Nghệ An (48), Đà Nẵng (44), Lào Cai (31), Vĩnh Phúc (31), Hải Dương (26), Quảng Ninh (24), Sơn La (21), Thái Bình (20), Thái Nguyên (20), Bắc Giang (19), HCM City (19), Hưng Yên (19), Nam Định (19), Tuyên Quang (17), Hải Phòng (17), Hòa Bình (15), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (15), Lâm Đồng (15), Quảng Ngãi (14), Bắc Kạn (14), Bình Phước (12), Quảng Bình (12), Hà Tĩnh (12), Hà Giang (11), Quảng Trị (10), Tây Ninh (9), Ninh Bình (9), Hà Nam (9), Lạng Sơn (8 ), Cao Bằng (6), Thanh Hóa (6), Khánh Hòa (5), Lai Châu (5), Điện Biên (3), Phú Yên (2), Bến Tre (2), Đồng Tháp (2) and Vĩnh Long (1).

No fatalities related to coronavirus were reported, with the death toll remaining at 43,082, about 0.4 per cent of infections.

4,600 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the total number given the all-clear since the start of the pandemic to 9,540,598.

Sixty-two patients are currently receiving oxygen support.
