HÀ NỘI — A total of 7,116 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in Việt Nam on Thursday.
So far the country has had 10,638,632 patients, ranking 12th out of 227 countries and territories worldwide.
All of the new cases were domestic. The number of new infections was down by 888 compared with yesterday.
5,862 transmissions were detected in the community.
The new cases were reported in 58 out of 63 provinces and cities across the country.
The capital city of Hà Nội led the country with 913 cases.
The other localities that reported new transmissions were Phú Thọ (475), Vĩnh Phúc (418), Yên Bái (305), Nghệ An (292), Lào Cai (288), Hải Dương (261), Quảng Ninh (252), Tuyên Quang (246), Thái Bình (224), Đắk Lắk (214), Thái Nguyên (209), Bắc Kạn (173), Hưng Yên (165), Nam Định (164), Quảng Bình (157), Bắc Ninh (147), Lâm Đồng (132), Đắk Nông (123), Hà Giang (118), Cao Bằng (112), Hà Tĩnh (102), Hà Nam (101), Lạng Sơn (92), Lai Châu (91), Ninh Bình (88), Quảng Trị (83), HCM City (82), Sơn La (81), Hòa Bình (80), Đà Nẵng (80), Vĩnh Long (74), Bình Phước (71), Bắc Giang (70), Điện Biên (66), Bình Định (58), Bến Tre (55), Thanh Hóa (54), Bình Dương (51), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (47), Phú Yên (41), Tây Ninh (35), Cà Mau (32), Quảng Ngãi (31), Hải Phòng (30), Khánh Hòa (28), Đồng Tháp (23), Bình Thuận (18), Quảng Nam (18), Thừa Thiên Huế (17), Kiên Giang (9), An Giang (5), Long An (4), Kon Tum (3), Trà Vinh (2), Đồng Nai (2), Cần Thơ (2) and Hậu Giang (2).
The country also reported three fatalities related to COVID-19 in Kiên Giang (1), Lâm Đồng (1) and Tây Ninh (1).
79,171 patients were declared recovered from the virus, with 9,242,303 people given the all-clear so far.
More than 213.6 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered nationwide since the pandemic began. — VNS
