Việt Nam reports 147,358 COVID-19 cases on Monday

Việt Nam reported a record 147,358 COVID-19 infections on Monday, bringing the country’s caseload since the start of the pandemic to 4,582,058.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam reported a record 147,358 COVID-19 infections on Monday, bringing the country’s caseload since the start of the pandemic to 4,582,058.

Of the new cases, 23 were imported and quarantined upon arrival.

Hà Nội continued to top the daily numbers with a record 32,317 transmissions, and 15 deaths, in the past 24 hours. 

The remaining infections were found in Nghệ An (10,153), Bắc Ninh (7,873), Phú Thọ (4,326), Hưng Yên (3,978), Sơn La (3,953), Hòa Bình (3,866), Hải Dương (3,799), Bình Dương (3,644), Nam Định (3,455), Lạng Sơn (3,118), Tuyên Quang (2,989), Quảng Ninh (2,915), Thái Nguyên (2,793), Bắc Giang (2,793), Đắk Lắk (2,789), Vĩnh Phúc (2,783), Ninh Bình (2,624), Cà Mau (2,534), Thái Bình (2,410), Hà Nam (2,391), Gia Lai (2,363), Cao Bằng (2,225), Điện Biên (2,189), Quảng Bình (2,161), Hồ Chí Minh City (2,120), Hà Giang (2,110), Yên Bái (2,100), Lào Cai (1,969), Bình Phước (1,924), Đà Nẵng (1,883), Bình Định (1,869), Lai Châu (1,748), Quảng Trị (1,590), Khánh Hòa (1,566), Thanh Hóa (1,151), Lâm Đồng (1,125), Hải Phòng (947), Bến Tre (912), Phú Yên (857), Hà Tĩnh (847), Đắk Nông (807), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (757), Tây Ninh (683), Quảng Ngãi (571), Bắc Kạn (567), Bình Thuận (524), Kon Tum (359), Quảng Nam (346), Thừa Thiên Huế (322), Bạc Liêu (314), Vĩnh Long (217), Kiên Giang (126), Cần Thơ (126), Trà Vinh (111), Long An (96), Sóc Trăng (55), Đồng Tháp (49), Đồng Nai (43), An Giang (43), Tiền Giang (24), Hậu Giang (19) and Ninh Thuận (17).

A further 78 COVID-related deaths were reported, raising the nation's death toll since the pandemic started to 40,891.

Á many as 36,993 COVID patients made a full recovery, with the total number of recovered patients in Việt Nam reaching 2,718,440.

4,104 COVID patients are in serious or critical condition with the majority requiring oxygen, 327 requiring invasive ventilation and eight on life support.

More than 197.9 million COVID vaccine doses have been administered in Việt Nam so far, including over 180.8 million doses for adults.

A total of 17,022,660 million COVID vaccine doses have been given to children aged 12-17.— VNS
