HCM CITY — Germany chemical company BASF on December 7 began to renovate its sixth school. This one is in a mountainous area in An Giang Province’s Tịnh Biên District.
Facilitated by Saigon Children’s Charity CIO, the construction of two new classrooms and a playground at the B Nhơn Hưng Primary School in Nhơn Hưng Commune will be completed next year.
It will benefit 105 students by providing them with a safer and more comfortable place to learn and develop various skills.
“Despite 2021 being another challenging year, we are proud to support this project together with our valuable partners to help school children in remote communities have a safe and high-quality learning environment,” Erick Contreras, managing director of BASF Vietnam, said.
“With this school, we want to help nurture Việt Nam’s next generation and demonstrate our commitment to supporting Việt Nam’s development.”
Tịnh Biên District has an 11.5 per cent poverty rate. —VNS
