In just a few short years, Vietnam has started to achieve worldwide fame thanks to a new generation of architectural masterpieces and tourist attractions, strengthening the country’s reputation for luxury travel.

Discovering heaven on earth — InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort

Officially opening its doors in 2012, InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort was the first project to mark the successful cooperation between Sun Group and renowned architect Bill Bensley. The stunning design, first and foremost, was lauded for how it showed great respect for the natural environment and preserved the precious ecosystem of Son Tra Peninsula.

The resort, which quickly became a destination for world leaders, celebrities and elite travellers, certainly makes the most of its heavenly setting, ensuring guests staying at any one of the 201 luxurious rooms, suites, penthouses and villas will enjoy glorious ocean views of Danang’s coastline from the lush,  tropical setting of Son Tra Peninsula.

From the day it first opened, the resort has contributed to raising the global status of Vietnam as a destination for luxury tourism, thanks to its stunning design, world class services and breathtaking setting.

Tucked away on its own private bay on the Son Tra Peninsula, the property was named "World’s Leading Luxury Resort” for four consecutive years from 2014 to 2017. InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort also surpassed numerous other heavyweight competitors to become the “World’s Leading Green Resort 2018”, which in this era of sustainable travel is  considered to be one of the most important of the hundreds of prizes awarded at the World Travel Awards (WTA).

Developed by Sun Group Corporation and managed by InterContinental Hotel Group, the resort has also received another three prizes at last year’s WTA, including World's Leading Luxury MICE Resort 2018, World’s Leading Luxury Wedding Resort 2018, and World's Leading Resort Architecture Design 2018.

Previously, the resort had also been featured on the list of 50 best resorts in the world for 2018 as announced by the US-based luxury and lifestyle travel magazine, Condé Nast Traveler. Many industry insiders agree InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort was the first resort to truly put Vietnam on the global luxury tourism map.
