The session is slated to examine draft regulations related to the responsibility for setting an example of Party members and officials, especially Politburo members, members of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat and the Party Central Committee; and consider the establishment of sub-committees in preparation for the 13th Party Congress.

Personnel work is another item on the working agenda, along with several other important issues.

The Party Central Committee is expected to issue conclusions on the socio-economic development situation in 2018 and a socio-economic development plan and budget estimates for 2019, and adopt a resolution on Việt Nam’s sustainable sea-based economic development strategy.

According to Vũ Thanh Sơn, deputy head of the Personnel Training Department under the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission, work on the draft regulations on the responsibility for setting an example of Party members and officials started at the beginning of this year.

Sơn said the draft regulations emphasised the role of Politburo members, members of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat and the Party Central Committee.

Answering a query on handling the responsibility of several Party members involved in the case regarding MobiFone’s purchase of 95 per cent of the shares of AVG Audiovisual JSC, deputy chief of the Party Central Committee Office Lê Quang Vinh stated that the discipline of former members of the Party Central Committee and members of the Party Central Committee who hold high positions must be considered and decided on by the Party Central Committee.
