Criminal proceeding begin against former VRG officials

Ministry of Public Security’s Police Investigation Agency yesterday issued a decision launching criminal proceedings against five former officials of the Việt Nam Rubber Group (VRG) accused of deliberately violating State rules on economic management resulting in serious consequences.

HÀ NỘI — Ministry of Public Security’s Police Investigation Agency yesterday issued a decision launching criminal proceedings against five former officials of the Việt Nam Rubber Group (VRG) accused of deliberately violating State rules on economic management resulting in serious consequences.

The five accused are Lê Quang Thung – former president of the VRG’s members council, Nguyễn Thành Châu and Nguyễn Văn Minh – former director and chief accountant of the Đồng Nai Rubber Company, Nguyễn Hồng Phú and Hoàng Văn Sơn – former director and chief accountant of the Phú Riềng Rubber Company.

The criminal proceedings included a search warrant and legal preventive measures needed to be taken against the five accused, following a decision issued on December 6 by the ministry’s investigative police and investigations conducted on the case in accordance with Article 165 of the Criminal Code.

Police said they were expanding the investigation of the case. — VNS
