PM lauds VN-Japan ties

Việt Nam is improving its business climate to attract foreign investors, including those from Japan, stated Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam considers the success of Japanese enterprises in the country its own, Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc said in Hà Nội yesterday. 

He also told visiting dignitary Kentaro Sonoura, Special Advisor to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, that Viet Nam was constantly working on improving its business climate to attract foreign investors, including those from Japan.

Stressing that the Việt Nam – Japan strategic partnership was based on mutual trust, Phúc lauded the smooth co-operation between the two countries’ state agencies and sectors in implementing agreements reached by high-ranking leaders. 

He said that he expects bilateral ties to be taken to new heights, fostering peace, stability, co-operation and development in the Asia-Pacific region. 

He also lauded Japan’s efforts in promoting the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) deal, which has been renamed the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). 

Sonoura congratulated Việt Nam on successfully hosting the APEC Year 2017 and conveyed Japanese PM Abe’s message of thanks for the warm welcome he received while he was in Việt Nam for the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting. 

Sonoura said 2017 as was a historic year in Việt Nam – Japan ties, with a series of high-ranking visits on both sides. 

Japan wants to stimulate friendship and collaboration with Việt Nam in all fields, he said. —VNS
