The German Embassy announced Wednesday that rumours that the country has halted visa issuance to Vietnamese nationals are fake news. |
HÀ NỘI — The German Embassy in Hà Nội on Wednesday officially refuted rumours that the European country temporarily stopped issuing visas for Vietnamese nationals.
In a statement sent to the media on Wednesday afternoon, the embassy said it had received many questions regarding the information being spread over social media in recent days, claiming that Germany is halting visa issuance for Vietnamese enterprises, government officials and Vietnamese students.
The embassy said the rumours are totally fake news.
Due to high demand, the waiting time for visa applications in all categories could be several weeks, the embassy said.
The embassy advises Vietnamese nationals needing to apply for a German visa to arrange their schedules well in advance and book a visa application appointment with the German Embassy in Hà Nội or the Germany General Consulate in HCM City.
All information on German visa requirements and the link to the appointment system can be found on the website www.vietnam.diplo.de. —VNS
