HÀ NỘI — Party General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng has left a deep imprint on Việt Nam's national progress and development over the last few decades, Indian Ambassador to Việt Nam Sandeep Arya told the Việt Nam News Agency’s reporters while expressing his feelings for the late leader.

The diplomat said the General Secretary’s vision, wisdom, and overall direction and guidance for the country’s growth have been well laid out and developed.

According to Ambassador Arya, Việt Nam’s achievements in socio-economic development, solidarity of the national people and working together for the future of the country are well recognised and widely respected around the world.

“The depth of his contribution is very well respected, very well regarded in Việt Nam and around the world,” Arya said.

The ambassador also expressed his impression of the Party General Secretary’s vision with the bamboo school of diplomacy, saying that the vision had been laid out in his various speeches on the bamboo school of diplomacy.

His vision of the bamboo school of diplomacy is a very well thought through and a very wise step for leading the foreign policy of Việt Nam, Arya said, adding that “the bamboo school of diplomacy as elaborated by General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng is really a very important aspect of that principle.”

Besides, the diplomat hailed General Secretary Trọng’s contributions to the development of the friendship and the comprehensive strategic partnership between Việt Nam and India.

Regarding his sentiment to the General Secretary, Arya highlighted the late leader’s ability of thinking very thoroughly and systematically and planning a path for Việt Nam's national growth and progress.

He mentioned the book the General Secretary had published about a year ago.

According to him, it contains the collection of the Party leader’s thoughts in different areas.

“So I think the fact that he had a vision for the overall governance of the country, he had the vision for economic development, the vision for agriculture, the vision for industry, the vision for workers, the vision for international relations, and the vision for the culture and identity of Vietnamese people,” the ambassador said.

He said he is so deeply impressed by the way the Party leader had steered Việt Nam's growth and progress, saying “this has been a window for me to understand Việt Nam and to understand the vision of General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng.”

“I personally feel that he has been a very strong driving force for achievements over the last few decades of Việt Nam's path. And the vision that he has laid will be continued to, and has put Việt Nam on a path.”
