1,338 State officials and employees disciplined in first half of 2024

HÀ NỘI — A total of 1,338 State officials and workers were disciplined in the first half of this year, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA).

The MoHA will continue to advise the Government and the Prime Minister to strengthen discipline, strictly implement the Party's regulations and State laws on punishing State employees, including those who have quit their work or retired.

It will also conduct the Party's regulations on promptly replacing and suspending work for officials who deliberately avoid responsibility and fail to perform work within their authority and their assigned tasks.

Inspection has achieved positive results, promptly reviewed and proposed competent authorities to amend and supplement legal documents to strengthen discipline, strictly handle State employees who have degraded in political ideology, ethics and lifestyle.

In the first half of this year, the MoHA received and processed 767 applications, including 264 denunciations, 117 complaints and 386 petitions, all of them resolved in accordance with the law.

In response to the Government leaders’ instruction, the MoHA has checked the situation of public employees resigning and quitting their jobs and the observance of discipline in Hà Nội, Cần Thơ and Bình Dương.

Examination at ministries and localities proved that tasks have been well promoted, improving public service, detecting shortcomings and limitations to report to competent authorities for legal regulation amendments.

To proactively prevent violations of State employees while performing public duties, local departments of home affairs had well developed inspection plans for this year.

In the past six months, provinces and cities organised 543 inspections in the field of home affairs.

At the same time, ministries and localities recruited 13,965 public employees.

Following Decree No. 140/2017/NĐ-CP on policies to attract talented graduates and young scientists to work in State agencies, 30 graduates and young students were recruited across the country.

Training State workers has been identified by ministries and localities as a breakthrough to improve the staff quality to meet the requirements of administrative reform associated with national digital transformation.

From the beginning of the year until now, ministries and localities have sent 94,437 workers on training courses.

Localities have proactively advised competent authorities to perfect rules on managing public employees, recruiting and training them in accordance with regulations and the type of job, typically in Cao Bằng, Thái Nguyên, Thái Bình, Hà Nội, Thanh Hóa, Hà Tĩnh, Đà Nẵng, Bình Dương and HCM City.

The MoHA has actively coordinated with relevant agencies to build policies to attract and utilise talented people working in State agencies.

It guides other ministries and localities to implement Decree No. 85/2023/NĐ-CP on recruitment and management of State workers, basically resolving practical difficulties and obstacles, improving the efficiency of management of State staff. — VNS
