MOSCOW — A delegation from the State Audit of Việt Nam (SAV) led by Deputy Auditor General Đoàn Anh Thọ has attended a special dialogue on audit as a tool to complete State management in St. Petersburg, Russia.

The dialogue came within the framework of the 27th St.Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2024) that is taking place in the city from June 5-8, attracting 138 countries and territories to exchange practices and expertise in the interests of sustainable development.

Hosted by Editor-in-Chief of the Russian broadcaster RT as well as the media group Rossiya Segodnya Margarita Simonyan, delegates discussed the role of State audit in the effective use of budget capital, and made recommendations to improve public administration fields as a necessary condition for sustainable development of society and improving the quality of life.

At the dialogue, Thọ said that under SAV’s development strategy until 2030, it prioritises three main pillars - improving audit quality, developing human resources, and applying information technology in auditing. State audit activities will also closely follow the government's programmes on national sustainable development, with a vision for 2050.

To achieve those goals, SAV has innovated developing audit plans, strengthening training for accountants, and learning experiences from other countries.

On June 6, the SAV delegation had a working session with the Russian Accounts Chamber’s delegation led by its deputy head Galina Izotova.

During the meeting, both sides affirmed the close and cooperative relationship between the two audit agencies.

The Vietnamese side proposed that Russia increase its cooperation in personnel training and support Việt Nam's candidacy as a member of the Asian Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) for the 2024-27 term, conduct joint audits on topics of mutual interest, and sign a new cooperation agreement between the two sides.
