HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese beauties will have the opportunity to get world class training from the ‘beauty queen maker’ Jonas Gaffud, as the first beauty queen training centre opens in Việt Nam next Saturday.

The camp, owned by Elite Vietnam, will cooperate with other training camps from Philippines and Venezuela to give the best available training to beauty contestants.

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and Miss World 2013 Megan Young, as well as their trainer Jonas Gaffud will visit Việt Nam to join the launching of the centre in April.

Việt Nam sent its first representative to Miss World in 2002. Over the next 15 years, Việt Nam has steadily climbed the ladder in the contest, putting itself on the world beauty map.

Đỗ Mỹ Linh won the Beauty with a Purpose award at Miss World 2017, while Lan Khuê ranked among the top finalists at Miss World 2015. Thúy Vân was the third runner-up at the Miss International 2015, and Mai Phương Thúy was among the top 17 in 2006.

Elite Vietnam opened in Hà Nội in 2002 and has since coined itself as an indispensable institution in bringing Vietnamese contestants to international pageants like Miss World, Miss Internatioanl and Miss Grand International.
