DHL and Shopee launch new partnership, enabling China sellers to easily access Thai consumers

SHANGHAI, CHINA  - Media OutReach- October 19, 2018 - DHL eCommerce, a division of the world's leading logisticscompany, Deutsche Post DHL Group (DPDHL), today announced a partnership inChina with Shopee, a leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan. Thepartnership enables sellers in China to access consumers nationwide in Thailand,with an expansion of the partnership to other Southeast Asian markets in thepipeline. The e-commerce sector of this region has tremendous potential with aCAGR of 32% between 2017 and 2025, and the market is expected to reach US$88 billion by 2025[1]. According to Statista, thee-commerce gross merchandise revenue in Thailand will exceed US$5 billion by2022, making it the second largest e-commerce market in Southeast Asia.

To mark the start of thispartnership, Shopee customers who select DHL eCommerce's services from October 19-- 22,2018 will enjoy free shipping to Thailand. In addition,DHL eCommerce's customers in China who join and sell on Shopee's platform willreceive exclusive support to list their merchandise on the "Cross Border Recommendation -- Productsfrom China" page on Shopee's Thailand site.

 

By selecting DHL eCommerce as their logistics partner, Shopee sellers willenjoy seamless delivery from the seller's pick-up location in China to the endconsumer in Thailand. With over 70% of the population in Southeast Asia stillunbanked, DHL eCommerce also enables cash-on-delivery (COD) service forshoppers to pay for their purchases in cash and only upon delivery.
