ĐÀ NẴNG — Movie buffs in the central cities of Huế and Đà Nẵng will have a great chance to travel to Denmark through a film festival from July 4 to 11.

A selection of six thought-provoking and inspiring films from prominent Danish filmmakers will be shown, including Land of Mine, Across the Waters, The Hunt, Long Story Short, Key House Mirror and A Hijacking.
The films represent the high level of Danish film production in recent years. They have won many awards and nominations at international and Danish film festivals.

The Hunt and Land of Mine were nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 86th and the 89th Academy Awards, respectively.

The narratives of the films are captivating and varied, ranging from an ethical post-war tension between justice and vengeance or a man’s fight against wrong accusations of child abuse to the struggle for true love and the perfect relationship of young people.

The Danish Film Weeks is a regular cultural event hosted by the Embassy of Denmark. This is the second time the event has taken place in Huế and Đà Nẵng.
The films will be shown at Cinestar, 25 Hai Bà Trưng, Huế City and Galaxy, Coopmart, 478 Điện Biên Phủ, Đà Nẵng.
Tickets are free and can be collected from June 24 at Cinestar Huế and Galaxy Đà Nẵng. All films are with Vietnamese and English subtitles.
