Miss Việt Nam won silver medal in Miss Earth swimsuit sub-contest

Việt Nam representative in Miss Earth 2018, Nguyễn Phương Khánh, has enriched her achivements in the beauty pagaent by winning the silver medal in the swimsuit competition.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam’s representative at Miss Earth 2018 Nguyễn Phương Khánh has won the the silver medal in the swimsuit competition.

Khánh also won gold for Asia & Oceania region in the national costume round on October 11.

Miss Earth is being held in the Philippines with the participation of 94 contestants from around the world. In the bikini sub-contest, they competed in three groups called Fire, Air and Water.

Khánh was a member of  the Water Group, which consisted of 28 contestants. The gold and bronze medals went to Miss Mexico and Miss Bosni and Herzegovina.

Born in the southern province of Bến Tre, 23-year-old Khánh was the second runner-up at the Miss Sea Vietnam Global Beauty Pageant 2018 held on Phú Quốc Island in April.

Khánh is currently a student at the Curtin University Singapore, majoring in marketing, and will graduate early next year.

She is currently standing in second place overall behind Miss Portugal Telma Madeira.

“It is the first time Việt Nam has entered the top swimsuit round of Miss Earth,” said Ngọc Tình, the representative of the Leading Stars Project, the organisation introducing and accompanying Khánh at Miss Earth, “In these beauty pageants, the contestants’ advantages in the swimsuit and national costume competitions are important, offering them opportunities to enter the final rounds.”

“We expected Khánh to achieve something at Miss Earth 2018. She has performed very well and made great efforts so far,” he added.
