HCM CITY — A workshop on dance by South Korean theatre lighting designer Song Young Kyeon will open Tuesday at Lệ Thanh Theatre in HCM City’s District 5.

The event’s theme is "Light Effects in Dancing".

Song, who will talk about and share his work and experiences in the industry, took part in a special art programme recently launched by the Daegu City Dance Company (DCDC) and its Vietnamese partner, the Arabesque Dance Troupe of HCM City.

The programme included a dance performance staged at the HCM City Opera House yesterday.

The show, 120 We Are Approaching, is directed by Korean choreographer Kim Sung Young, director of the DCDC.

Thirteen Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese dancers of the DCDC and Arabesque troupes performed.

It includes two acts, Boy in the Tree and The Gift, which feature the lives of artists.

Kim and his dancers will also participate in a workshop hosted by his colleague, Song.

The workshop will begin at 3pm Tuesday at Lệ Thanh Theatre on 25 Phan Phú Tiên Street in District 5. — VNS
