HCM CITY — Three beaches in Việt Nam topped the list of least expensive seaside destinations, according to travel specialist TravelBird’s 2018 Beach Price Index.
The prices at 327 of the most popular beaches from over 90 countries was based on local tourism board numbers and data from the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO).
It looked at the price of six popular beach purchases, including the cost of a bottle of sun cream, a bottle of water, a beer, an ice cream, lunch (including drink and dessert for one person), and facility fee (entrance fee plus cost of sunbed and umbrella), at each destination.
Three beaches in Việt Nam were the least expensive, with Cửa Đại Beach in the central province of Quảng Nam’s Hội An Town topping the list (13.44 EUR for all six items), followed by City Beach in the central province of Khánh Hòa’s Nha Trang city (14.47 EUR), and Long Beach in Phú Quốc Island of the Cửu Long (Mekong) Delta province of Kiên Giang (16.03 EUR).
Anse Vata Beach in Noumea, New Caledonia was the most exclusive beach in the index, at a total price of 78,57 EUR, followed by Finale Ligure in Liguria, Italy (76.59 EUR), and Yonaha Maehama Beach in Okinawa, Japan (70.32 EUR). — VNS
