HÀ NỘI — A photo book featuring pictures of famed General Võ Nguyên Giáp by Trần Tuấn has just been launched in Vietnamese and Korean, marking the first publication by the photo-journalist to be selected for introduction to South Korea.
The editorial board will then publish other books on Việt Nam, including volumes on the Điện Biên Phủ Strategy in 1954, President Hồ Chí Minh and General Giáp to Korean audiences.
According to Tuấn, the book titled “General Võ Nguyên Giáp in People’s Hearts” gathers his most famous photos during the long period in which he worked closely with the General, including the General’s portraits, images of him with comrades, people, family and touching images of people waiting in long queues for the General’s funeral in 2013.
Tuấn worked as a photo-journalist at the Vietnam News Agency for 45 years, during which he spent 35 years taking photos of the General.
Tuấn has published three photo books and hosted ten photo exhibitions on the General in various cities nationwide.
The Vietnamese–Korean photo book was his first joint project with Thế Giới Hương Sắc JSC and Ethnic Culture Communications Research Institute and the Vietnamtoday communications company.
