HÀ NỘI — Photos depicting the friendship between Late Commander Hugo Chavez of Venezuela and Vietnamese leaders and people are on display at an exhibition in Hà Nội.

The exhibition is held to commemorate the five years since the death of the Venezualan leader.

“This photo exhibition, in addition to constituting a tribute to our great leader, is a recognition of the love and admiration of Commander Chavez to the heroic people of Việt Nam, President Hồ Chí Minh and General Võ Nguyên Giáp, taking into consideration that during his mandate he endeavored to deepen the fraternal relations and to enhance solidarity and cooperation with the Vietnamese nation,” said Ambassador Jorge Rondon Uzcategui.

Welcome, comrade: Commander Hugo Chavez on his official visit to Việt Nam in August 2006.
He said the legacy of Commander Chavez continues to cross borders and remains alive in people’s hearts, despite the attempts of imperialism and the international right wing to tarnish his name and his work, attacking the Bolivarian Revolution through an unprecedented economic and political war.

“President Chavez will always be remembered for his struggle for justice, freedom and the dignity of peoples,” he said.

The Venezuelan leader, who died of cancer on March 5, 2013 at the age of 58, devoted his life to the national liberation and the country’s development and made an important contribution to consolidating friendship with Việt Nam.

The exhibition will run until the end of this week at the embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Villa D6B-01, Vườn Đào Compound, Alley 675 Lạc Long Quân Road, Hà Nội. — VNS
