HCM City to honour southern Vietnamese heroines

An exhibition honouring the contributions of southern Vietnamese heroines was held on Tuesday (June 20) in HCM City’s Southern Women Museum to celebrate the 70th War Invalids and Martyrs Day, which falls on July 27.

HCM CITY — An exhibition honouring the contributions of Vietnamese heroines in the South was held on Tuesday (June 20) in HCM City’s Southern Women Museum to celebrate the 70th War Invalids and Martyrs Day, which falls on July 27.

Claudia Liliana Zambrano Naranjo, Columbia’s representative in Việt Nam, together with authorities from neighbouring provinces, participated in the opening ceremony.

The exhibition features 255 portraits of heroines of the Việt Nam People’s Armed Forces in the South, whose contributions were officially recognised in March.

Heroine Lê Thị Thu Nguyệt, said that the event, which was organised by the city’s Department of Culture and Information, had brought back many great memories that could encourage younger generations to strive for a better future. — VNS
