A glimpse of Hà Nội and international cuisine

HÀ NỘI  — Food lovers will have the opportunity to enjoy quintessential food from Việt Nam and dozens of other countries including France, Japan and Argentina during the Hà Nội Culinary Cultural Exchange event held in the capital on Friday and Saturday.

The event, organised in Octagon House near Hoàn Kiếm Lake by Hà Nội’s Department of Culture and Sports, aims at introducing and promoting the culinary art of Hà Nội and of different countries.

With food booths featured in the event, locals have chance to enjoy cuisine of 25 countries like France, Peru, Italy, Japan, Australia, Laos, Thailand, Indonesia and China.

Hà Nội booth features the signature dishes of the capital which include cốm Mễ Trì (Mễ Trì young sticky rice flake), trà sen Hồ Tây (West Lake’s lotus tea), bún ốc Phù Đổng (Phù Đổng noodle soup with snail), bánh cuốn bà Hoành (Mrs Hoành steamed rice roll), bánh dày Quán Gánh (Quán Gánh glutinous rice cake with mung bean inside) and traditional spring roll.

The event also will feature artistic performances, attracting both local residents and embassies and foreign cultural centres in Hà Nội. —VNS
