HÀ NỘI — The Colour Me Run festival in Hà Nội will host thousands of revelous runners on April 22.

Through the slogan ILOVE - WELOVE, the event will encourage runners to explore a whole range of emotions, with five gates coloured mystic purple, sour yellow, blizzard blue, coral green and flamingo pink.

Participants of all ages will be doused from head to toe in the different coloured powders--a mix of corn starch and food colouring powder -- as they walk, jog or run across the finish line of each gate.

The event, hosted by Pulse Active, was held in HCM City for the first time in 2014 and it has quickly become the pioneer event that brings young people together and inspires them to live a dynamic and energetic lifestyle.

"Colour Me Run gets a lot of love from variety of ages, and it is also seen as a creative playground which continuously changes with every year," said Phạm Bá Dũng, a representative of the organisation board.

Those who finish the 5km-race will have a chance to enjoy music performances by local artists Soobin Hoàng Sơn, Suni Hạ Linh and DJ Tujamo.

German-born producer Tujamo is known for his unique take on dance music which could be considered a genre of its own. At the age of 18, he won a DJ contest in one of the most famous clubs in German Club Index in Schuttorf. He is widely regarded as one of the most talented Newcomers in Germany and played in most of all major clubs and cities across the country.

Soobin Hoàng Sơn is emerging a top V-pop singer after taking part in the TV music show The Remix 2016. He won Most Promising Male Singer award at Làn Sóng Xanh - annual music awards launched by the Radio Voice of HCM City last year. His MV entitled Phía Sau Một Cô Gái (Behind A Girl) has reached 100 million views after four months.

Suni Hạ Linh will perform at the event. She won the first prize at Cleverlearn Superstars Contest — an English singing contest for students in 2008 and the second prize at K-pop stars hunt in Việt Nam.

"Runners can feel joy together with family, friends, colleagues or lovers. Every group of people has different ways of experiencing feeling, but at Lavie Colour Me Run, colours will be the one language that unites all groups and shows much love," Dũng said.

"We believe all the runners can enjoy deeper connection with their loved ones or make new meaningful relationships when they participate in the experience."

About 7,000 people in Hà Nội and 9,000 in HCM City are expected to take part the event. — VNS
