HCM CITY — Vietnamese pop idols Sơn Tùng M-TP and Tóc Tiên have been invited to participate in Seoul Fashion Week which begins on March 27.

Both singers are popular for their high-quality music productions and fashion style.

Tùng, 24, was ranked 32 out of 55 in the I-Magazine Fashion Face Award for the Asian Male 2016 along with famous actors from South Korea, China and Taiwan.

The ranking was based on votes from 380 photographers, stylists and make-up artists from 40 countries, compiled by editors of I-Magazine in the UK, Hong Kong, China and South Korea.

Tiên won Singer of the Year at the Elle Style Awards Vietnam 2016, given by fashion magazine Elle Vietnam.

Seoul Fashion Week, to be held at the Dongdeamun Design Plaza from March 27 to April 1, will feature the latest fall-winter collections of famous designers from South Korea and other countries.

Fashion brand names such as Jarret, Charm’s, Romanchic, A Bell and Blindness will also be shown.

During the trip to Seoul, the two singers will take part in activities to promote their music. Tùng will host a fan meeting at the Ilchi Art Hall on March 28. The event is expected to attract 300 people.

This year, he released two music videos, Lạc Trôi (Drifting) and Nơi Này Có Anh (I’m Here), which young audiences have warmly welcomed. Within a day after release, the two videos saw millions of views on YouTube.

In Seoul, the 27-year-old Tiên will meet with Korean music producer Kim Do Hoon, CEO of Rainbow Bridge World, the agency for the four-member girl group Mamamoo. He has produced music for famous Korean bands and singers like BTS, T-ara, CNBlue, Ailee and Wheesung.

“The meeting will create an opportunity for me to develop my music career,” said Tiên.

The singer is one of four coaches for The Voice Vietnam 2017, a Vietnamese version of the American reality TV show The Voice.

She has followed pop dance music for three years. Last month, she surprised her fans with a ballad Em Không Là Duy Nhất (I’m Not the Only One), which attracted more than 6.6 million views on YouTube within three weeks of release.
