BÌNH DƯƠNG – The second national Đờn Ca Tài Tử (southern folk music) Festival will be held April 8-12 in the southern province of Bình Dương, according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.
“Southern plentiful flavour" is the theme of this year’ festival, which is one of Việt Nam’s most important events this year.
The ministry said that local authorities should work with Việt Nam Television to broadcast the opening and closing ceremonies live on television so that residents and overseas Vietnamese could watch the show.
In addition to music bands from 21 provinces in the southeastern and southwestern regions, 14 teams from seven other provinces are expected to take part in the festival.
Multiple art shows and exhibitions will be organised to honour famous artists with significant contributions to Đờn Ca Tài Tử development.
A talk show on Đờn Ca Tài Tử and its tourism potential will also be held. – VNS
