HCM CITY — Phú Quốc Special Zone in An Giang Province has launched the Phú Quốc Tourism Rapid Response Team in an attempt to create a professional and transparent tourism environment and protect the rights of tourists.

The team is led by deputy chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Phú Quốc Special Zone Nguyễn Thị Kim Loan.

It consists of four groups: cyber support, northern island tourism rapid response, central island tourism rapid response, and southern island tourism rapid response.

It is responsible for receiving and classifying tourist feedback 24 hours a day and seven days a week, and promptly arriving at the scene to provide support and coordinate the resolution of issues related to pricing, service quality, security, and safety for tourists.

It provides guidance on legal procedures and assists in searching for lost items, and offers first aid in case of accidents.

Speaking at the launching ceremony on February 26, Trần Minh Khoa, chairman of the People’s Committee of Phú Quốc Special Zone, admitted that concerns regarding last-minute room cancellations and price increases during the Tết (Lunar New Year) holiday season have damaged the island’s tourism image.

The launch of the Tourism Rapid Response Team demonstrates determination to protect the Phú Quốc tourism brand sustainably, Khoa said.

“The rapid response team will be the soldiers on the tourism front, present in a timely manner to protect the legitimate rights of tourists and businesses,” he said.

The multilingual QR code system helps remove language barriers, making it easier for international tourists to access information and provide immediate feedback.

At the ceremony, tourism businesses in Phú Quốc signed a commitment to strictly implement the Tourism Code of Conduct.

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Hồ Văn Mừng hoped that the establishment of Tourism Rapid Response Team will ensure the rights of tourists are protected.

The Tourism Code of Conduct must be integrated into the daily business operations of restaurants, hotels, tourist attractions, and travel companies, Mừng said.

“The province will provide maximum support to help Phú Quoc upgrade its infrastructure and effectively manage local tourism resources and the environment,” he said. —VNS
