Ngon Garden and Quán Ăn Ngon aren’t just favourites among Vietnamese diners, but are also gaining a firm place on the world culinary map.

Quán Ăn Ngon, Ngon Garden and Ngon Sài Gòn restaurants offer not only fresh delicacies and charming surroundings, but also unforgettable moments for adults and children alike.

Food lovers and guests, including foreign visitors to Hà Nội, are in for a treat at Quán Ăn Ngon restaurant, which offers hundreds of traditional, tasty dishes; Ngon Garden restaurant, which serves both Vietnamese and international favourites; and Ngon Sài Gòn, which gives diners the chance to enjoy delicious cuisine and the cultural essence of Sài Gòn – all from within the capital city.

That's according to Phạm Thị Bích Hạnh, owner and CEO of Phúc Hưng Thịnh Co, which operates all three restaurants.

Ngon Garden: savoury dishes

Ngon Garden, located at 70 Nguyễn Du, one of Hà Nội’s most beautiful streets, is a top dining destination for celebrities, visiting dignitaries, tourists and locals alike.

The restaurant, set in an Indochina style villa, boasts a patio surrounded by lush greenery and offers specialties from across Việt Nam, alongside original delicacies from countries such as Japan, Singapore, Thailand, and others.

Tạ Văn Đức, a food enthusiast in Hà Nội, said he and his friends could enjoy many traditional dishes at Ngon Garden: from traditional Hà Nội phở and authentic bún bò Huế, to grilled beef from Nha Trang, fresh vegetables from Đà Lạt and live seafood from around the world — each dish crafted with care and seasoned to perfection.

Đức said his group particularly enjoyed Ngon Garden's Tây Ninh vegetables, boiled pork leg meat, and shrimp with special sauce. The Singapore chili crab was also a favourite among regulars.

“We’re always happy to discover more amazing dishes, like baby lobster baked with cheese, crab and gourd hotpot, steamed chicken wrapped in lotus leaves, grilled half-sundried squid, and desserts like bird’s nest soup with papaya, lotus seeds and longan sweet soup,” he said.

Since opening seven years ago, the restaurant has welcomed high-ranking delegations from North Korea, France and beyond. Visiting officials praised the restaurant’s dishes, describing them as uniquely Vietnamese and unforgettable compared to food served elsewhere.

Diners flock to Quán Ăn Ngon

Located at 18 Phan Bội Châu Street in downtown Hà Nội, Quán Ăn Ngon is a favourite among locals and international diners, including overseas Vietnamese from the US like Dương Quang Chăn.

“When we arrived, the restaurant was already packed with food lovers, both local and foreign. Many were trying traditional Vietnamese dishes from all three regions of the country. We were especially impressed with the appetizers, which were so fresh and tasty,” Chăn told Việt Nam News.

NORTHERN SOUL: Freshwater crab hotpot and grilled hemibagrus with salt and chili is among northern specialties much loved by foodies.

Every time he returns to Việt Nam, he and his friends make a point of enjoying the aromatic, flavourful dishes at Quán Ăn Ngon.

Its extensive menu features more than 200 street food items and regional specialties, created using recipes handed down for over a century and refined by skilled culinary artisans.

In March, the restaurant was named one of seven eateries offering the best cuisine and service in Việt Nam at the Asia’s Excellent Taste Awards 2025, held in Hà Nội.

Locals and foreign guests enjoy traditional dishes at Quán Ăn Ngon in the capital.

Ngon Sài Gòn: southern soul

Ngon Sài Gòn is another must-visit for lovers of southern Vietnamese cuisine.

Visitors can choose from hundreds of traditional dishes inside Ngon Sài Gòn Restaurant in Hà Nội.

Diners can discover Sài Gòn's spirit in the capital with a diverse menu, with each dish perfectly reflecting Sài Gòn’s original cuisine, from cooking style to materials.

“When guests step into the restaurant, they’re instantly immersed in the flavours and spirit of Sài Gòn, right here in Hà Nội,” said CEO Hạnh.

Diners can enjoy everything from pork meatball bánh mì to Chợ Lớn style rice noodle soup with shrimp and pork, crab hotpot and more – all infused with the open-hearted charm of Saigonese.

The restaurant’s décor, with new floral arrangements and vivid paintings, has been set up to complement the diverse menu prepared by professional chefs from all three regions, according to Hạnh.

Nguyễn Thu Hằng and her family of four from Hồ Chí Minh City were especially moved by their visit to the restaurant.

“We were enchanted by the thousands of fresh flowers, the atmosphere, and the rich flavours of southern dishes, all in this beautiful place in central Hà Nội,” she said.

It was the first time her children had experienced such thoughtful decoration and the 'Garden of Freedom' concept at the restaurant.

“We really enjoyed unforgettable dishes like roasted chicken salad, sticky rice with crab, and flavourful hotpots, all while surrounded by flowers. It was a truly wonderful time,” she said.

EXQUISITE: Five-colour salad is among the favourite dishes at Ngon Sài Gòn.

Her favourite was lẩu bông – a special hotpot served with a variety of edible flowers and fresh bagridae.

“The broth has this light sweet, sour and salty taste. Every piece of fish is full of flavour. It’s a perfect dish for the changing seasons,” she said.

International recognition

Quán Ăn Ngon and Ngon Garden have once again earned a place on Michelin’s culinary map – their third year of recognition after listings in 2023 and 2024.

“This is a big motivation and great encouragement for us to preserve and promote Vietnamese culinary values through our dishes, restaurant spaces and service,” said Hạnh.

“Being recognised by Michelin also means diners’ expectations are rising. We’re fully aware of our responsibility to continuously improve food quality, staff skills and service, to offer the best possible experience,” she said.

Most recently, both restaurants were honoured at the ASEAN Strong Brands Award 2025 in Singapore, where they were named among the top 10 in the region during the ninth Việt Nam-ASEAN Economic Cooperation Forum.

“It’s a significant milestone affirming that Ngon Garden and Quán Ăn Ngon aren’t just favourites among Vietnamese diners, but are also gaining a firm place on the world culinary map,” Hạnh said. VNS
