HCM CITY — HCM City is getting ready for a spectacular fireworks display at five different locations to celebrate the Reunification Day on the night of April 30.

There will be one high-altitude fireworks show at the mouth of the Saigon River tunnel in Thủ Đức City.

The other four will be at the Thảo Điền villa area and Vạn Phúc Urban Area also in Thủ Đức City, the northwest industrial park in Củ Chi and Đầm Sen Cultural Park in District 11.

The 15-minute firework displays will begin at 9pm.

Visitors in the city centre during the holiday can choose from several locations to watch the fireworks:

1. Bạch Đằng Wharf: a central spot in District 1 with a clear view of the fireworks.

2. Saigon River Park: located near the high-altitude fireworks show in Thủ Đức City and the low-altitude display in Thảo Điền residential area.

3. Rooftop bars and restaurants in the city centre such as Katinat, Liquid Sky Bar, Majestic Saigon Hotel, and Sofitel Saigon Plaza.

4. Chạng Vạng Rooftop in Thủ Đức City with a prime viewing location by the Saigon River.

5. Boat cruises on the Saigon River, including ROS Yacht Club, Bến Nghé, Indochina Queen, and Hòn Ngọc Viễn Đông.

One of the recommendations is a double-decker river bus tour offering views of the fireworks from the river, which costs between US$10 and $15 per ticket, depending on the seat class. — VNS
