HÀ NỘI — Nearly 300 businesses and individuals nationwide received 2024 VITA AWARDS, one of the highest honours of its kind in the country.
The award is given by the Vietnam Tourism Association (VITA) to praise outstanding organisations, businesses and individuals in the Vietnam Tourism Industry who have made outstanding achievements and actively participated in the activities of VITA and effectively contributed to the recovery of Việt Nam's tourism in 2023.
Within the framework of the Vietnam International Tourism Fair VITM on April 11, the VITA Emulation and Commendation Council honoured two individuals with special contributions who had helped create the conditions for VITA to organise national events and activities successfully. 10 former leaders of VITA and the organisations who made positive, effective contributions to the activities of VITA were also honoured.

Also on this occasion, VITA awarded Certificates of Merit to honor 20 associations and 112 individuals who are leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, leaders of provincial and urban tourism associations, television reporters and journalists, directors of travel businesses and passenger transportation, and tourist accommodation establishments which had outstanding achievements in 2023.
The Vietnam Travel Journalists Club and its nine outstanding members are journalists from major press agencies with excellent achievements in reporting news articles in the field of tourism and have made positive contributions to the recovery and development of Vietnamese tourism in 2023, and were honored at this Honor Ceremony.
In 2023, with the efforts of the entire industry, especially the tourism businesses, Viet Nam has welcomed 12.6 million international tourists and served over 108 million domestic tourists. Revenue from tourists reached VNĐ678.3 trillion (US$27.1 billion). VNS
