Miss Tourism Ambassador Vietnam 2023 contest announced

The winner will not be able to participate in other international beauty competitions. Instead, they will spend two years helping promote local tourism.

BÌNH THUẬN – Miss Tourism Ambassador Vietnam 2023, part of activities for National Tourism Year 2023 and to find a representative to promote the country's tourism, was announced in the southern province of Bình Thuận on July 25.

Participants will be Vietnamese women aged 18 to 27 years old, with height of at least 1.63m tall, and not yet married, among other requirements. Each of them will also produce a video clip about their provinces' tourism. 

The judges of the competition include People's Artist and Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vương Duy Biên; Deputy Secretary of Bình Thuận Provincial Union Trần Thị Hòa Xuân; singer Nguyên Vũ; Miss Business Global 2017 Vũ Bình Minh.

Deputy head of the organising board Kim Thanh Thảo said that through this competition, people would learn more about the beauty of the nature and culture of the country and Bình Thuận Province.

The competition will have three stages, culminating in a final round in December, according to organisers.

The first stage will be hosted in six different provinces: Hà Nội, HCM City, Bình Thuận, Đà Nẵng, Thái Nguyên, and Tiền Giang.

The winner will receive a crown and a cash prize of VNĐ300 million (US$12,900).

The first and the second runners-up will pocket VNĐ200 million ($8,600) and VNĐ150 million ($6,400), respectively.

The ambassador of the competition, Lý Kim Thảo, expressed her love for Bình Thuận Province as a special place where she became the winner of the Miss Tourism Vietnam Global 2021.

She is glad to be the contestants' companion to help them achieve their best performance.

The competition is co-organised by Hoa Ánh Dương Entertainment and the Bình Thuận Province youth union.

Nguyễn Quốc Tuấn, director of the Vietnam News Agency’s southern representative office (a media sponsor of the contest), said that the contest would focus on calling for environmental protection, and the development of green tourism and sustainable tourism.

The national tourism year, this year with the theme Bình Thuận - Green Convergence, is an annual national event of Việt Nam featuring a series of cultural, socio-economic, and tourism activities, which are carried out by Bình Thuận and many other provinces and cities around Việt Nam.  – VNS
