HCM CITY— Soprano Phạm Thu Hà will be featured in a concert in HCM City on Saturday (June 17).

In Musique de Salon 6, Hà will sing with a chamber orchestra conducted by Đức Trí.

The singer will perform ten songs from her semi-classical album Tựa Như Gió Phiêu Du (Gone with the Wind), which was a phenomenon in the industry after its release in 2013.

The concert will include guest singers Trung Quân, Nguyên Hà and Trọng Bắc.

“I hope my music will meet the taste of Saigonese,” said Hà, winner of the 2013 Cống Hiến (Dedication) for the year’s Best Album.

Hà is one of few Vietnamese artists who consistently pursues the classical music genre. She graduated from the Hà Nội National Conservatory of Music (now Việt Nam National Academy of Music).

She has released several single and group albums.

One of her hits is Đường Em Đi (My Way), a vinyl record featuring eight classical love songs by late composer Phạm Duy released in 2017.

On the MV Đường Em Đi, Hà offers a breath of fresh air to the contemporary folk music of Duy, who was famous in the 1950s-70s.

In January, Hà launched Live Studio Session, a music project featuring ballad songs by several famous songwriters of Việt Nam, such as Nguyễn Văn Tý, Trịnh Công Sơn, Nguyễn Thụy Miên and Bảo Chấn.

Her project includes videos and vinyl albums which will be recorded using high-end technology. All will be released this year on her official Youtube channel Phạm Thu Hà, her website https://phamthuha.com, and on the digital music platform Spotify.

Her concert Musique de Salon 6 is produced by Trí, a graduate in composing from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.

He began his career in 1995 in HCM City. He has produced music for pop idols such as Hồng Nhung, Phương Thanh, Đức Tuấn and Mỹ Tâm.

He has produced many albums and MVs, and composed soundtracks for Vietnamese award-winning movies.

Trí has won many top prizes at the country’s leading music awards, such as Cống Hiến and Mai Vàng (Golden Ochna).

The concert Musique de Salon 6 will open at 8pm on June 17 at the HCM City Army Theatre in Cộng Hòa Street, Tân Bình District. — VNS
