HCM CITY — Thousands of discounted books are waiting to be found at a book fair in HCM City.

The Trans-Việt Nam Book Fair 2022 is organised by six prestigious publishers: The Trẻ (Youth) Publishing House, Thái Hà Books, Nhã Nam, Minh Long, Đinh Tị and Saigon Books.

The event, held from February 22 to 27, promises to bring readers thousands of new books from famous authors.

All books at the fair will be discounted by 25 per cent, or up to 35 per cent during prime time from 12 noon to 1pm. In addition, there are tens of thousands of books with prices from VNĐ5,000-30,000 per one.

Many side activities, such as Vẽ tương lai - Tô mơ ước (Draw the Future - Paint Dreams), and a shadow book drawing workshop will be held on February 26. This is an opportunity for parents and children to show their crafting skills and create interesting works of art together.

The exchange session for students with the topic of how to write and publish a book taking place today is another highlight of the book fair.

The event was presented by Trung Nghĩa, author of many popular travel books, including Sydney Yêu Thương (Lovely Sydney), Bí Mật ở Cannes (Secrets in Cannes), and Từ Bàn Môn Điếm đến Chernobyl (From Panmunjom to Chernobyl).

Two best-selling Vietnamese books: Ra Bờ Suối Ngắm Hoa Kèn Hồng (Going to the Stream to See Pink Lilies) by Nguyễn Nhật Ánh, and Hong Tay Khói Lạnh by Nguyễn Ngọc Tư were also introduced by the Trẻ Publishing House on this occasion.

At the book fair, the Đinh Tị Publishing House also brought many popular children's books along with many series of detective books in the past year. VNS
