Hà Nội honours key industrial products

HÀ NỘI — The capital city honoured 26 products as its key industrial products in Hà Nội on Friday.

The products from 19 eligible enterprises operating in the city included high tech ones such as hardboard products, flexible circuit board products and household products such as high-quality sanitary ware, faucets and washbasins, steel pots, non-stick pans, rice cookers, printers, paints and bamboo baskets.

According to the department, firms which have made efforts in scientific and technological applications, applied international standards in quality management and increased the degree of automation in production and management were chosen for the list.

In the last three years, Hà Nội has implemented support policies and programmes for firms such as trade promotion activities and an improved business environment, helping enterprises increase competitiveness, speed up scientific and technological applications and increase the quality of human resources.

Vice director of Hà Nội’s Department of Trade and Industry Department Đàm Tiến Thắng said: “The recognition and honour will help increase the brand value, thereby promoting production and business, creating conditions for businesses to maintain stability and develop sustainably in the city.”

So far, the city has recognised 117 products of 77 businesses after three years. The turnover of 77 enterprises with recognised products was estimated at nearly VND200 trillion (US$8.69 billion) and their export turnover was estimated at more than $1 billion this year.

Appreciating businesses and products honoured in 2020, Hà Nội People's Committee deputy chairman Lê Hồng Sơn also urged the Department of Industry and Trade to advise the city on mechanisms and policies to better support businesses with key industrial products. — VNS
