CÀ MAU — The southernmost province of Cà Mau will use effective shrimp farming models on a large scale to export US$1.2 billion worth of aquatic products in the remaining months of the year.
According to the provincial People’s Committee chairman Nguyễn Tiến Hải, local agencies and farmers have been urged to apply modern, eco-friendly shrimp farming models that adapt to climate change.
They are expected to improve the efficiency of breeding shrimp quality control and disease prevention, as well as pay attention to technical transfer to farmers.

In the first half of this year, the total extensive shrimp farming area topped 135,000ha, or 99 per cent of the plan, up 19.3 per cent year-on-year.
