Vietnamese goods on show in South Korea

A number of Vietnamese enterprises are showcasing goods including handicrafts, dairy products, food and beverages at the 17th Import Goods Fair (IGF), which opened in Seoul on Thursday.

SEOUL — A number of Vietnamese enterprises are showcasing goods including handicrafts, dairy products, food and beverages at the 17th Import Goods Fair (IGF), which opened in Seoul on Thursday.

Participants include the Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk), Ecolink, Fair Trade conditions Craftbeauty, Global Trading Connection Co and An Thịnh Co. 
 
Hosted by the Korea Importers Association (KOIMA), the annual IGF has attracted more than 25 firms from 46 countries and territories. 
 
It aims to help foreign manufacturers and suppliers by providing an opportunity to introduce and advertise their brands and products to Korean importers and consumers as well as to find business partners, KOIMA said in a statement. 
 
Lasting until Saturday, the event is expected to welcome more than 20,000 visitors.
South Korea is the leading foreign investor in Việt Nam with total registered capital of more than US$62 billion to date.

South Korea is also Việt Nam's second largest trade partner with two-way trade hitting $65.7 billion in 2018. Trade is expected to grow to $100 billion by 2020, equivalent to an annual increase of 18 per cent over the next two years. — VNS
