HÀ NỘI — National carrier Vietnam Airlines and authorities of the northern province of Quảng Ninh signed a strategic co-operation agreement in Hạ Long Bay on Monday.
Under the agreement, the two sides will help each other develop and promote tourism in Quảng Ninh Province and popularise the image, products and services of Vietnam Airlines.
The province will set up special support policies for air routes to Vân Đồn International Airport to increase the number of visitors to Quảng Ninh and introduce the province to Europe, Australia and the northeast Asia region.
Meanwhile, Vietnam Airlines will expand its international and domestic air network from and to Vân Đồn airport to meet the market’s demand. It will also co-ordinate with local authorities to promote investment and tourism, and take part in local and international cultural and tourism events in the province from 2018 to 2021.
As a coastal province in the North East of Việt Nam, Quảng Ninh owns the world’s natural wonder Hạ Long Bay. The province’s Vân Đồn International Airport will be operational by 2018 to meet the travel demands of people.
Vietnam Airlines and Quảng Ninh People’s Committee have jointly organised social activities to support the poor. In April last year, the carrier grew 50,000 trees in one coalfield of Quảng Ninh Province. — VNS
