HCM CITY — Samsung Việt Nam (SEV) and the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) on Tuesday in HCM City opened the third and fourth course of the training programme for Vietnamese consultants in support industry in the south.

The training programme consists of eight courses taking place in 2018-19 under direct guidance of experts from South Korea to equip 200 Vietnamese consultants to provide advice and retraining to their suppliers in the support industry in Việt Nam, thereby helping them improve their competitiveness.

In the next three months, 50 trainees of the third and fourth course will have four weeks of theoretical training with knowledge of quality management and production management and eight weeks of implementation of improved consultancy activities in many enterprises.

At these enterprises, the trainees will be involved in the implementation of consultancy processes which have been successfully applied by Samsung.

The first course’s graduation ceremony was held in Hà Nội on July 10 with 25 trainees graduating, while the second course is still being conducted.

According to a report, after the courses, the trainees have helped enterprises achieve outstanding results such as a 63 per cent increase in production capacity and a 92 per cent reduction in errors on product quality.

Shim Won Hwan, president of Samsung Việt Nam Complex said: "With the success and positive feedback from the trainees of the previous courses, we believe that the trainees will become the key human resource to advise Vietnamese enterprises on improving capacity, promoting competitiveness and opening more opportunities in the field of support industry so that Vietnamese enterprises can participate deeply in the supply chains of multinational corporations, including Samsung Corporation."

Up to now, 32 Vietnamese enterprises have been supported by Samsung to improve production and enhance competitiveness. — VNS
