TRÀ VINH — The first plant producing smart fertiliser products opened in the southern province of Trà Vinh’s Long Đức Industrial Zone last Saturday.

With a total investment capital of more than US$35 million, the 5ha-plant will have an annual production capacity of 50,000 tonnes of smart fertiliser products, which will help farmers reduce costs by 40-60 per cent compared with the normal products, while decreasing greenhouse gas emissions by 50 per cent and increasing yilds by 10 per cent.

Financed by Rynan Smart Fertilisers JSC, the plant will provide 20,000 tonnes of products each year in the first phrase, which costs $10 million.

Last year, the company tested successfully 200ha of rice using its smart fertiliser products in Tam Nông District, Đồng Tháp Province.

The fertiliser helped farmers in the district not only save costs, increase productivity, increase value, but also ensured environmental protection, said the Đồng Tháp People’s Committee vice chairman Nguyễn Thanh Hùng. — VNS
