MobiFone has new chairman

The Ministry of Information and Communications officially appointed a new chairman of member council for MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation on Wednesday.

HÀ NỘI — The Ministry of Information and Communications appointed new chairman of the member council for MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation on Wednesday.

Nguyễn Mạnh Thắng, a member of the members’ council of Việt Nam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), was appointed.

MobiFone finally has a new chairman two months after former chairman Lê Nam Trà was transferred to the ministry’ office. During the two months, the position was taken over by deputy minister of information and communications Phạm Hồng Hải.

Thắng was born in 1963 and has a master’s degree in business administration.

He was deputy director of VMS - MobiFone for nine years, head of VNPT’s marketing rate department from 2005 to 2010 and in August 2010 became VNPT’s Chief of Office.

He has been in VNPT’s members’ council from mid-2014. — VNS
