HÀ NỘI — Masan High-Tech Materials Corporation (MHT) has received the “Việt Nam's Top 50 Leading Brands 2022” and “Golden Product 2022” awards at the 2022 Vietnamese leading trademarks and Vietnamese golden products and services awards ceremony held by the Vietnam Intellectual Property Association.
MHT is the only representative in the high-tech materials sector to win the awards, which honour businesses, organisations and individuals who have actively worked to provide innovative products and high-quality services, positively contributed to the national economic growth and strengthened Vietnamese brands’ market position on the world economic map.
MHT is the world's leading manufacturer of high-tech tungsten metal powders and tungsten carbide (mid-stream tungsten products), serving customers all over the world with production hubs in Việt Nam, Germany, Canada and China.
It has two research and development centres in Germany and Việt Nam. The company is currently operating Núi Pháo polymetallic mine and a state-of-the-art tungsten processing plant in Thái Nguyên Province. It is also a globally significant producer of fluorspar and bismuth.
MHT's tungsten chemical products including APT, YTO, BTO are recognised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade as industrial products with a purity of over 99 per cent. This places Masan High-Tech Materials among the few tungsten suppliers outside of China having direct connection with a resource base, enabling the business to go downstream and turn Việt Nam’s strategic tungsten resources into higher value tungsten chemicals.
In a recent collaboration project between Masan High-Tech Materials and the Centre for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Württemberg (ZSW) in Germany, the high-tech tungsten products produced by Masan High-Tech Materials are tested to be applied in tungsten-based cathode coatings in lithium-ion batteries to improve performance and safety.
Beyond the battery technology, Masan High-Tech Materials recently announced the signing of definitive agreements to invest into Nyobolt Limited, a fast-charging Lithium-ion battery solutions company headquartered in the United Kingdom.
Using MHT’s high-tech tungsten materials for anode coating, Lithium-ion batteries manufactured by Nyobolt achieve record-breaking high-power density and ultra-fast charging.
Phan Chiến Thắng, director of Media, Community and External Relations of Masan High-Tech Materials, said: “We are working towards a circular economy, targeting sustainable development through focused efforts in tungsten recycling to achieve green and effective manufacturing.
“In the near future, tungsten will not only be one of the strategic high-tech materials we supply to global sunrise industries, but a key element for high-performance battery products commercialized in the global market”. — VNS
