AADA 2025: Honouring a Vibrant Asia

The AADA 2025 awards, themed ‘Vibrant Asia’, aim to celebrate projects, designs, and collections that embody cultural significance, ground-breaking creativity, and the potential to create a positive community impact. According to the organising committee, from over 800 submissions across 16 Asian countries, only 110 were selected for the final round, with 63 outstanding projects ultimately being honoured.

Notably among them, the creative furniture collection Đòng Đòng from Việt Nam won in the Asia’s Best Furniture Design 2025 category. It impressed the professional jury with its unique harmony of contemporary aesthetics, advanced production techniques, and profound traditional cultural depth.

Đòng Đòng: An Aspiration to Weave Furniture into the Nation's Cultural Flow

According to the AADA jury, the Đòng Đòng collection by Landco Corporation is a poetic symphony that celebrates Vietnamese identity, where furniture is elevated to become a vessel for heritage, life's rhythm, and the national spirit.

Inspired by the rice grain,a sacred symbol of the nation,each design blossoms like the harvest season, soft in its lines yet rich in meaning. Graceful curves evoke the shape of a rice grain, transforming living spaces into vivid stories of pride, memory, and connection.

The distinction of Đòng Đòng lies in the fusion of tradition and modernity. Artisans employ sophisticated techniques such as gold leafing, lacquer and handcrafted rattan and bamboo weaving, creating products that are both authentic and warm. Simultaneously, modern forms and functional comfort ensure Đòng Đòng is wellsuited toboth Asian and Western spaces. It is a collection that strikes a balance between past and future, art and function, cultural identity and global value.

Beyond AADA 2025, Đòng Đòng has been showcased at prestigious exhibitions like Maison & Objet Paris 2023 and Salone del Mobile Milano 2024, leaving a mark on the international community. It helps convey a message of responsible design in a world of mass production: one that is authentic, sustainable and culturally rich.
