Trí’s goal voted 2nd best at Futsal World Cup

The goal by Việt Nam’s Nguyễn Minh Trí against Guatemala on September 11 at the Futsal World Cup Colombia 2016 has been chosen as the second best goal of the tournament, voted for by the users of FIFA.com.

HÀ NỘI — The goal by Việt Nam’s Nguyễn Minh Trí against Guatemala on September 11 at the Futsal World Cup Colombia 2016 has been chosen as the second best goal of the tournament, voted for by the users of FIFA.com.

Earlier, his goal was selected as one of the tournament’s top 10 goals.

Bringing a high ball expertly under control on the touchline, Trí cut in past his marker and unleashed an unstoppable drive into the roof of the net. He scored a hat-trick to help Việt Nam beat Guatemala 4-2 in their opening game at the World Cup.

Thailand’s Suphawut Thueanklang won the best goal award. The Thai player earned the admiration and praise of readers, who voted en masse for their favourite goal of Colombia 2016. In total, an impressive 37,800 votes were cast, with more than 80 per cent going to Thueanklang’s audacious strike against the Cuban team.

The goal coming in third was scored by Morocco’s Adil Habil, who caught Spain keeper Paco Sedano by surprise with a superb curling effort from his own half, though it did not prevent the Spanish from emerging 4-3 winners. — VNS
