The shooting killed at least 59 people and injured 527 others. As of 11:00 pm on October 2 (local time), there was no information about Vietnamese casualties in the shooting, according to the Embassy of Việt Nam in the US.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Phạm Quang Vinh has directed staff to constantly monitor for updates on the shooting. The Embassy staff is also in close contact with the Las Vegas Department of Police to follow the situation of the Vietnamese community in the city. He noted that Las Vegas authorities pledge to quickly provide information for the Vietnamese Embassy through a hotline if they discover any Vietnamese casualties, be they Vietnamese tourists or expatriates. — VNS
