HÀ NỘI  Việt Nam coach Park Hang-seo has been banned for four matches by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) following his aggressive behaviour at the 30th Southeast Asian Games last December in the Philippines.

Park and the Việt Nam Football Federation were informed yesterday.

Park reacted angrily at referee Majed Al-Shamrani during the final between Việt Nam and Indonesia when his midfielder Nguyễn Trọng Hoàng was fouled by an Indonesian player but escaped a warning.

The South Korean manager apologised later and promised to keep calm.

The ban will only be applied for friendly matches, and Park was also fined US$5,000.

Subsequently he will not be on the bench for the friendly against Iraq on March 26 in Bình Dương Province. VNS
