HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese martial artist Nguyễn Trần Duy Nhất knocked Kim Falk out of the World Muay Thai Championships in Bangkok on Wednesday.
Seven-time world champion Nhất beat Falk of Sweden, who previously beat defending world champion Prawit Chilnak of Thailand, in the men’s 60kg.
The match attracted a large number of fans.
In the first qualifying match, Nhất knocked out Argen Kerimbekov of Kyrgyzstan.
Việt Nam sent 17 martial artists from Hà Nội, Thanh Hóa, Bình Dương and HCM City to the event, which attracted more than 1,000 martial artists to compete in 15 weight classes.
The Muay Thai World Championships, which is also the second qualifying event for the 2021 World Games in the US, will end on July 29. — VNS
